How do i pay my deposit and balance?

As of spring of 2018, we have a new registration bookings application, so we no longer accept checks; payments are credit card only. All payments for 2019 trips will be processed online, through the new system.  Our system is secure; we use Stripe to process payments.  

what is the difference between an instructed workshop and an uninstructed retreat?

An instructed workshop features an instructor, who teaches the group at specified times (mornings in most cases); participants are free to continue working on their own in the afternoon or pursue other activities. An uninstructed retreat features no instructor and, depending on the trip, hours and sites are often determined by the individual. During uninstructed retreats, evenings are often reserved for an optional peer review and feedback session among participants.  See the description for each trip for more details.

what is the typical schedule?

Groups sessions (painting, photography, cooking, etc.) are normally held in the mornings.  Instructors finish at noon.  Participants are free to spend afternoons as they wish. See the description of each trip for more details on schedule.

are supplies included for painting trips?

Participants bring their own supplies for uninstructed retreats.  Instructed workshops include a "Goodie Bag" including solvents (for oil painters), paper towels, tape, trash bags, jars, paper plates, freezer paper (to use as palette paper) and other small sundries that are useful for painting in the field.  For most trips (not all) basic easels are available to rent for a small additional fee; however, if you are picky about your easel, you should bring your own. We also sell paint and canvas packages if you prefer to travel without these items. We highly recommend that participants bring a small rolling bag to transport supplies back and forth to painting sites.  

how do i get my paintings home?

We recommend the Raymar wet canvas carrier, which comes in several sizes, up to 16 x 20.  Be advised that the carriers only work with painting boards, NOT stretched canvas.  If you prefer to use stretched canvas, we can in some cases, ship your paintings home after the workshop for an additional charge.

when should I book my flight?

Each trip requires a minimum number of students. You will be notified by the instructor as soon as your trip fills, or you may contact Cerulean Blue to confirm that the trip has filled prior to booking your flight.

what happens if a trip is cancelled by cerulean blue?

If a trip is cancelled by Cerulean Blue, your deposit will be returned within 30 days of the cancellation.  

what happens if a participant cancels?

If you cancel your registration, deposits are non-refundable; however, the balance amount will be refunded if you cancel on or before the “Cancel By” date for your workshop.  Cancellations received after the “Cancel By” date will result in a loss of all monies paid.  There are no refunds for services not utilized while participating in our workshops. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Are non-participating partners allowed?

Each trip is different but most do allow partners who are not participating in the creative activity to join in at a reduced price.  See your trip for details.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is highly recommended (for trip cancellation, emergency medical evacuation, baggage, accident, medical, etc.). Please note that by registering for one of our workshops, you acknowledge that Cerulean Blue Enterprises will not assume responsibility for any damage, loss, cost, delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly as a result of participation in our workshops or by any force majeure events or other events which are beyond our control, including but not limited to war, civil disobedience, strike, weather, or acts of God or Government.  Please read our Terms and Conditions fully before registering.

what are the accommodations like?

Each trip is different.  We tend to stay in quaint, comfortable, charming accommodations that are locally owned and centrally located.  See each trip to view photos and details of the selected accommodation.   Please note that in the event of an emergency, or if an accommodation becomes unavailable, the accommodation for a selected trip may change.
